Dow Electronic Materials was the proud recipient of the 2016 Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Award for its Asia CMP Manufacturing and Technical Center (under the legal entity name Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials Asia Pacific Co., Ltd.). The Ministry of Labor’s Occupational Health and Safety Administration chose the site for this prestigious award based on both the site’s safety performance record and preventative measures that have established a workplace culture that prioritizes health and safety.

Dow’s Asia CMP Center, located in Hsinchu Science Park’s Jhunan Campus, produces materials for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP). An industry-leading supplier, Dow’s solutions bring performance benefits to a wide range of CMP applications. In addition to high-volume manufacturing, the facility is home to a large technology center and applications lab, providing technical support to customers throughout the region.

Earlier this year, the business announced an expansion project that will add a new building to the facility. The new construction will be used primarily to increase manufacturing capacity for both conventional and next-generation CMP pads.

“This award is a credit to every one of our employees who model and practice safe behaviors daily,” said Mario Stanghellini, Vice President and Global Business Director, CMP Technologies, Dow Electronic Materials. “By prioritizing safety as the number one objective in our manufacturing operations, our customers benefit from the highest levels of quality and service.”
